The full moon in March is known as the Full Worm Moon. Two children have heard the legend that the worms dance in the moonlight and want to see for themselves. Publishers Weekly said "Both text and artwork capture the beauty and majesty of the natural world. Thought-provoking and poetic. Ages 4-up."
Magic spells, thieving field mice, a celestial cow, a baby lamb, revolving doors, rainbow colors, grandmothers, germy jelly beans, and more are part of The Variety Show. What will happen next in this collection of stories for children ages 4-8? The Magic Story Makers is a group of children's book writers and artists, who have been meeting since 1998 under the able leadership of Pat Blackman. While not all members belong to the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators, an international professional organization, the group follows the standards of SCBWI. The Variety Show anthology is a showcase of member work. All proceeds will be donated to a local literacy organization.
